Activity Zone 1 : Workshops 

The Workshops zone provides a space for interactive sessions where attendees can engage in hands-on activities and group discussions to enhance their understanding of key topics. Each workshop is designed to foster collaboration, practical learning, and skills development.

Activity Zone 2: Masterclasses

The Masterclasses zone offers in-depth sessions led by experts, aimed at providing advanced knowledge and specialized skills to participants. These sessions are ideal for those looking to deepen their expertise in specific areas.

Main Plenary 

The Main Plenary serves as the central hub for high-profile discussions and presentations. This stage hosts a variety of sessions, from expert talks to panel discussions, bringing together thought leaders to share insights and drive impactful conversations.

Networking Space

A dynamic networking space where attendees can watch live broadcasts from COP29, allowing them to stay updated with real-time developments while engaging in informal discussions and networking opportunities.

General Questions

  1.  Is the event open to the public?

The event is open to anyone willing to learn more about Sustainability and COP 29; sustainability practitioners, curious Singapore residents, experts in their field, etc. Our programme will cater to all audiences.

  2. What do I need to come with to attend the sessions?

The confirmation email is enough!

 

  3. Do I need to attend all sessions if I have a Day Pass?

The Day Pass covers the working hours activities from 1pm to 7pm. Hence, a Day Pass does not allow you to attend the Evening activities. The Evening Pass covers the Evening spotlight event at 7:30pm onwards. Hence, an Evening Pass does not allow you to attend the Day activities.

NB: If you want to attend both series of events, you need to purchase both the Day Pass & Evening Pass.

 

  4. Do I need to attend all sessions if I have a Day Pass?

Upon the purchase of a Day Pass, you can join any session. If you need to take calls or work between sessions, we have a dedicated space available called the “Networking Room” where no activities will occur.

  5. What is the refund policy? 

Day Passes & Evening Passes are free of charge.

For Masterclasses & Workshops, we apply a small fee and there will be no refund policy.

However, if you can no longer attend, you can pass over your ticket to someone else as long as you email hello@altercop.com to validate the transfer.

  6. Can I bring children to the event?

The event is not open to children.

Event Basics

  1. What are the values of the event?

AlterCOP is a Collaborative and Volunteer-based; more than 50 volunteers are currently working on curating the daily programs & fine tuning the organisation. These are our values;

  • We don't need a few to be perfect, we need everyone to do their best, one action at a time. The solutions for a better future already exist.

  • No criticism, focus on the positive side of things and actions

  • No greenwashing, but no calling out on behalf of the AlterCOP 29

  • We recognise that acceptance of different opinions is essential to our growth. We welcome constructive disagreement and debate, as long as it is based on active listening, sharing and mutual respect.

 

   2. When and where will the event take place?

All week days events will be located in City Square Mall at Singapore Sustainability Academy at the following address;

180 Kitchener Road, #06-10

The conference will take place at Singapore Sustainability Academy and across 4 zones, namely;

  • Main Stage - Corporate Testimony Series, Youth and Community Sharing Series, Expert Talks, Panel Discussions and Dialogues will take place here.

  • Activity Zones 1 and 2 - Workshops and Masterclasses will take place here.

  • Networking Room - Screening of COP 29 programmes and networking opportunities will take place here. 

Weekend activities will be scattered across the city.

   3. How can I register or share registration for the event? 

Our registration link appears on our website at the following address; https://www.altercop.com/

This link is unique as it centralises all sessions.

All registrations will go through the Tessera platform.

   4. What is the cost of attendance? 

All main stage events are entirely FREE. As such, our DAY PASSES & EVENING PASSES are free of charge.

However, we apply a small fee for workshops and masterclasses for the following reasons;

  • Our trainers need to prepare some prior work for each session

  • Factoring an average 50% drop rate for public free events, we need to ensure our trainers come for a proper audience. 

  • Payment of stationeries and material for the session

Speakers and Content

  1. Who are the keynote speakers and panellists?

Speakers and panellists will represent all stakeholders involved in Sustainability; NGOs, Corporates, Communities, Government Agencies, Citizens & Activists, Academics. All speakers and panellists agreed to join the event on a pro bono basis.

   2. What topics will be covered at the event?

All the topics covered at AlterCOP 29 are topics covered at COP 29.

   3. What is the difference between the Main stage and the other stages?

The Main Stage will include all Day Pass & Evening Pass activities; Corporate Testimony Series, Youth and Community Sharing Series, Expert Talks, Panel Discussions and Dialogues will take place here.

Activity Zones 1 and 2 will host the workshops and masterclasses.

The Networking Room will screen COP 29 programmes and allow networking.

  4. Is the event geared towards a specific industry or audience?

As the event is open to anyone willing to learn more about Sustainability and COP 29, all industries and audiences are welcome to attend. Our panels & talks will involve a wide versatility of speakers to prove our objective of inclusivity.

   2. Is parking available?

City Square Mall has over 500 car parking spaces at Basement 3 and 4. The carpark has a height restriction of 2.1m. There are spaces allocated for families, eco cars and the handicapped. 

Pricing below for Monday to Friday (except Public Holiday);

  • 6am - 5:50pm; $2.18 for the first hour or part thereof, $1.09 for every subsequent 30 mins or part thereof

  • 6pm; 5:59am; $3.27 per entry

 

   3. What is the dress code for the event?

The dress code is business or smart casual. You may be staying in and around air-conditioning that can run fairly cold, so dressing in beachwear and flip flops will not be ideal attire.

 

   4. Is there a food and beverage area?

As the event is happening in the afternoon, there will be no lunch provided. However, there will be some refreshments for the evening sessions.

Additionally, we will have a dedicated network area with coffee and tea served, where you can also work quietly between 2 sessions.

A terrace space will be free so you can eat your own food.

   5. Can I buy food at the AlterCOP 29’s location?

We will not serve food ourselves, but you will find plenty of restaurants to visit at City Square Mall; https://www.citysquaremall.com.sg/shops/food-beverage/

 

   6. How many people will join the sessions?

We are targeting at approx. 100 people per day at AlterCOP 29.
